LAB Security

Security of the labs is a major concern due to the presence of intellectual property as well as additional privileges provided for lab environments. There are a variety of Labs within Tech Mahindra for the purpose of customer delivery or internal capability building.

ISG has defined the Lab policy which provides an overview of the security policies and processes for customer and TM internal Labs. This guideline document illustrates the information security, process to be followed to achieve a run time compliance and ensure availability of the lab environments.

This standard covers all types of Labs within Tech Mahindra. Labs in Tech Mahindra are used for dedicated customer delivery, shared delivery or for internal solution development.

Lab Owner Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Lab is setup as per the Lab Security Policy and Guidelines of Tech Mahindra.
  • Is responsible for the Lab Setup, Lab Operations, Lab Decommissioning.
  • Must ensure Lab operations include processes for access management, Lab inventory, network permissions, exceptions, security, privacy and management of Intellectual property.
  • On termination of Lab ensure secure decommission process of Lab. Data retention period to be maintained as per Tech M policy or client MSA. All systems are formatted and network connections are disabled for the Lab setup.

As per the defined Lab Policy, following activities are performed.

  • It highlights the security processes for secure lab set-up, operation and closure.
  • It also ensures that the labs comply with the corresponding master service agreement and ensure data privacy, security and IP protection in line with Tech Mahindra or customer policies.
  • This standard covers all types of Labs within Tech Mahindra.
